Most people use AI like Google: one question, one answer. Engineers use it as a tool they shape, debug, and orchestrate. The gap between these two modes is enormous and growing.
Willem Pino, founding engineer at Rootline, shares how his team uses AI across KYC, code review, prototyping, GTM and writing production code, and what engineer-grade AI use actually looks like in practice. Used right, AI lets you put your technical knowledge to far more use than before.
Lecturer Bio
Willem is Rootline's first employee. He helped build the backend applications, CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes clusters from scratch, and now leads the AI GTM engineering project, building internal AI tools that help the commercial team scale.
He previously worked at Adyen for five years in Amsterdam and San Francisco as an on-call engineer and team lead. He studied algorithmic complexity in Utrecht.
